Biography:
Richard Hammond is a British television presenter, journalist, and writer, best known for his role as a co-host on the BBC motoring show Top Gear alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May.
Born in Solihull, England, Hammond began his broadcasting career in radio before transitioning to television. He joined Top Gear in 2002, quickly gaining popularity for his enthusiastic personality and often accident-prone driving style. His nickname on the show was "The Hamster".
Following the departure of Clarkson and May from the BBC, Hammond co-hosted The Grand Tour with them on Amazon Prime Video. He has also presented numerous other television programs, including science shows, reality competitions, and historical documentaries.
Hammond is known for his love of cars, particularly classic vehicles, and his on-screen chemistry with his co-presenters. He has survived several high-speed crashes during his career, including a near-fatal incident in 2006 while filming Top Gear.
